WHY WE FELL IN LOVE WITH TAHITIAN PEARLS…

We are proud to offer one of the finest Collections of jewelry in North America in 18K gold, mounted with Tahitian Pearls.

When we began to select Tahitian Pearls to adorn our creations, we felt immediately connected by the beauty and the sensuality of this gem, a true “Miracle of Nature”. We are still hypnotized by their incredible array of colors and iridescence.

Their tints represent the full spectrum of rainbow colors: they offer an amazing palette of shades which reflects the hue of the Polynesian lagoon. These “gifts of the sea” are all unique and therefore the choice is infinite. We enjoy selecting exquisite colors such as peacock, blue, green, pistachio, eggplant purple but also black, grey, chocolate, cream and even white tones.

Color is not the only criterion. We look for the perfect shape and the most incredible luster that gives our jewelry pieces their unique style.

We use only Gem Quality or AAA Quality Grade in our collection. Gem quality grade means that there are no blemishes (or flaws) seen by the naked eye and the luster is excellent. AAA quality grade means that the blemish rate is less than 10 % on each pearl surface and the luster is sharp.

Their size usually varies from 8 to 18 mm in diameter. Over the years, we collected amazing sizes which became rare (climate change and acidity of the ocean have an impact on oysters). Our collection offers some exceptional creations mounted with pearls above 15 mm. The supply will not last forever and we know that it will be difficult to find this large size.

WHERE DO TAHITIAN PEARLS COME FROM?

Tahitian Pearls (or Black Pearls) are a gem formed from the Black Lip Oyster (“Pinctada Margaritifera”). These oysters are mostly farmed in French Polynesia in the atolls of Tahiti. Pearl experts insert a shell nucleus (bead) into the oyster. This process will trigger nacre secretion as the bead is considered an irritant.

We are proud to offer in our collection the finest quality of pearls which are mainly sourced in the farms located in the Tuamotu Islands. These micro-islands are situated in a perfect environment for the cultivation of the most beautiful and colorful pearls. The lagoons are nutrient-rich which benefits the luster and iridescence of the future gem.

HOW TO SELECT “YOUR” TAHITIAN PEARL?

The infinite beauty of Tahitian pearls allows our clients to select “the one” that will best suit their skin tones. For example, dark peacock pearls or deep black ones work well for tan or olive complexions or women with pale complexions and dark hair. For blondes, grey pearls with or without pink undertones or light grey peacock green would be a complementary choice.

One person might decide on a pale shade to wear during the day and a more colorful one for a night out. If you prefer a discreet piece, choose a small pearl. On the contrary, if you want to display your piece, opt for a large size that will surely become a conversation piece! In fact, these gorgeous “gems of the sea” adapt to your taste and style.

Don’t forget that a pearl’s color can “change” with the color of your clothing. Is it not magical? Tahitian Pearls transcend the classical old-fashioned-look of a pearl strand and truly create a fashion statement.

SYMBOLISM OF TAHITIAN PEARLS

Some say that black pearls offer healing power and protection from negative energy. It is also believed that they symbolize hope, luck, wealth, wisdom, and everlasting love.

In addition to this, Tahitian pearls symbolize exotism: they are a reminder of the ocean, paradisiac islands and vacations far from home. They invite you to dream, and when you touch them, you think about what Nature gives us as one of her most beautiful creations.

That is why we love them all and our clientele does too!!!

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR TAHITIAN PEARLS?

The best way to take care of your Tahitian pearls is to wear your pearl regularly! The contact with your skin oils will help to preserve their beauty.

To keep their luster, avoid spraying perfume directly on them.

Don’t place your black pearls close to other jewelry (especially diamonds) to avoid scratching them.

You can clean your pearls with a dry or wet soft cloth or chamois.

When taking off a ring with a Tahitian pearl, just grasp the metal part and not the pearl (doing so might damage the pearl over time). We use a special technique that strengthens the post where the pearl is mounted. So, no worries. Wear your ring and enjoy!
